But if you want to do it yourself heres 1 way:

1. Have 3 555s in monostable mode with the outputs and inputs connected in a ring but also have the inputs pulled high and connected through a capacitor to ground so they cant be held low and will retrigger. Use relays to drive the high voltage lighting side.

Hello Raven Luni,

I was wondering if I could pay you to design something for me possibly?
I need to put a device into a traffic light and it needs to be robust enough to run 24/7/365.
It needs to power three 120-volt 150-watt lamps.

Thank you for taking the time to look at this.

Jim

As much as id like to take your money, I'm just a hobbyist. There are people here far more qualified for that. Plus I've never worked with mains powered circuits. It's straightforward enough but I cant take that responsibility.

I built a traffic light sequencer some months ago, running on 12V and driving 12V bulbs.
The sequence was the UK sequence.
This could be modified to switch 120V with relays or triacs but I, like Raven Luni, am not going to get into the safety problem.

I will look up my posts to find the diagram.

The sequencer I made was based on a 4093 oscillator and 4017 ring counter. The 4017 has 10 outputs which are selected with diodes to drive the three fets.

Diagram attached.
