Having said I concede defeat... Someone at work pointed out that I have the FETs right next to the bridge rectifier transformers (Which are getting a constant sine wave from the wein bridge oscillator)... maybe the field effect from one was interfering with the other? So I made up a separate FET connected directly to the battery which was away from everything... And it worked with a 21 W bulb... but it worked with the FET right next to the bridge rectifier too. So the only difference is that the "new" FET has an earth connected directly to the battery, not common with the circuit and the signal wire was not right next to the transformer.
I am going to separate the earths and shield the signal wire, if that doesn't work I will move the FETS away from the circuit too.
Don't understand this (as all the wires are 15 amp!) but if it works then awesome!
