RCA convergence

Have an RCA TV model #P52000T. Convergence adjustments on front of
set. Adjustments at maximum, and covergence is still off. The vertical
seems to worse than horizontal. Can't find info for this particular
model on this problem. Any Techs have a good idea of what is probably
at fault? Thanks.

Presume the convergence mechanical controls located just behind the access
door at the front of the tele?? I would suspect there may actually be
electronic problems within the supplies or dynamic convergence correction
circuitry that needs attention rather than just trying to fool the symptoms
by adjusting all the accessible controls. Esp due to the probable age of the
product. Schematic and diligence in troubleshooting may be required before
actually attempting to do the dynamic convergence physical adjustments.

Without the all important Chassis number, cannot help at all.

IIRC that is a Hitachi built unit. If it's what I think it is it uses discreet
components for convergence outputs, I've fixed a couple. The design isn't too
bad, i.e., the smoke escaping from one part doesn't encourage the smoke to come
out of alot of other parts.

Or is it the CTC 132 ?

Possible, it's been awhile.

If it is the 132 then he may be in for a chase across multiple pcbs to find
what is actually affecting it. let alone the possibility of NLA components.
Would be nice to know that info tho!! White tag somewhere inside the set,
may be affixed to a heatsink or mounting bracket. CTC-XXX XXX three numbers
and probably one to three letter suffix.

I think you were right the first time. Didn't all the 132 series use three
letter model numbers? ie: PMR, etc. I think it is the Hitachi with the
mainboard mounted bottom side out.
