Is it possible to use a DC controller that has 4 outputs against a 2 wire DC motor? If so, how do you wire them together? thank you in advance

Probably not. How are the 4 outputs labeled? That might be a clue.

hi bob, the outputs are labeled armature + / - , and excitation + / - .
I was thinking could just wire the armature outputs to the motor and not hook anything to the excitation outputs, but i'm afraid to fry the controller and/or motor. any insight is greatly appreciated.

I am not familiar with that type of controller, so I cannot advise you.
