Wiring a 9 Pin D connector for standalone Logitech sub-W

I have a Logitech X-230 subwoofer with 2 satellite speakers, one of which has a power switch and volume control. These satellite speakers attach to the passive subwoofer via a 9'pin D connector.
What i am trying to achieve is to connect the subwoofer to my mini HiFi system's single Subwoofer RCA.
I assume that this can be done, however I haven't dabbled in circuits for over 30 years so I need some help from this forum.
I have uploaded a file which I found online showing the 9 D pin wiring diagram and I would really appreciate it if you Wizzards out there could advise me how to wire this in order to bypass the satellite speakers and connect the RCA cable directly to the subwoofer.

This should answer your questions.
Forget the potentiometers, directly connect pins 2 and 9 of the S-SUB to the stereo jack.
Add a switch between 6 and 8 or simply short-circuit these pins for permanent on.

Oddly though, I connected 6&7 together and pin 2&4 to the RCA and it works. Confused!

2 and 5 would seem to be the correct input pins for the RCA connector, inner to 2, outer to 5.
