sanyo ds 31590-02 picture problems

picture lockin jumps to clear then contrast gets weak. no response on the
onscreen contrast control.

As I recall, the text mode closed captioning is turned on on that set
to cause that problem. Certain Sanyo models would do that, I am
assuming that the menus all come up ok.
