Repair for battery contacts?

I have a MAHA MH-C204F battery charger.
The contacts are corroded, looks like rust.
What's a good repair method?
Should I try to replate them? With what?
I have some .005" nickel that I'm thinking
about trying as an overlay.
Would overplating that with silver help?

Suggestions?
