How can I charge a rechargeable battery in the lab, what's the
'reverse connection'?
** You use the normal connection - ie positive battery terminal goes to
positive terminal of the charger.
But the charger has to have higher voltage available than that of the
battery.
Plus, you need to add a resistor in series with the DC supply to limit
current flow.
The charging reaction commences immediately and the voltage on the battery
can be seen to gradually rise on a sensitive volt meter.
What happens next depends entirly on the kind of battery, its size and the
current flow you set up.
