I can't seem to find any source of the pinout for the camera connector for
the portable U-matic recorders.
The FAQ has several other types, and U-matic sites have a couple of
different connectors (SCART and multi-connector), but not the Cannon/JAE
14-pin SRCB2A16-14S (female) type round connector.

The cameras were typically 3-tube Saticon types for commercial and broadcast
applications.
The round connector has pins arranged in rows of 2, 3, 4, 3, 2.

Any info greatly appreciated

Thanks
Cheers

It's commonly referred as the Sony 14pin connector.

Here are a few links:

Thanks for your help. The first link (rcrowley) had the specific pinout I
was looking for.. Sony DXC-3000 camera connectors.

The second link (geocities) shows a different type of 14-pin consisting of 3
rows of four pins and 1 row of two pins.
The other 10-pin connector shown on the same page is the fairly common
consumer camera 10-pin connector used on Quasar, RCA, Panasonic camera
cables when cameras were cabled to portable VHS VCRs.

Yeah those Dxc's were good cameras. I had several back in the late
80's when my video prod. company was in full swing.

The 10 pin is commonly called the Panasonic 10pin(they set the
standard for all video non sony) as the 14pin was a Sony invention.
As I recall the extra pins were just for separate Y/C output.
