odd connector

I am looking for a connector that could be used for a security connection.
We have found them in another unit but can't find a place to get them. The
main board has some traces on it and this other connector would short the
traces when the case is closed. If the case is opened the unit would not
function. This connector it roughly 1/8 by 1/4 in. There are traces that
go across the narrow part of the connector. If you measure across the
narrow part of it, you get a short. If you try to measure across the long
way, you get no reading. It is also about 1/4 in. high. Most of the it
rubber, but the contacts look like they are gold or gold color.
If anyone has any ideas of where something like this please let me know.

It sounds like your describing just a shorting bar, made with a piece of
metal and a piece of foam. I'd be surprised if anybody makes something like
that as an off-the-shelf part.

And it also sounds like the function you're describing is something called
an "interlock switch" or just "interlock." It keeps people from getting
electrocuted, mostly. ;-)

Good Luck!

I think it might be some form of metal, but if you look close at it you
will see very small traces running the narrow length of the connector. It
looks like it might be on a sticker and just added to the rubber.
