Milwaukee Sawzall repair ?

I have Millwaukee Mo # 6507 Sawzall which quit working after using it
one day . The brushes and and cord are OK . I suspect a bad trigger
or maybe something amiss with the variable speed control . Are there
any diagrams online ? Some troubleshoot help isapprecaited . - thanks

I think your suspicion is probably correct. Some varispeed switches can be
opened, although you might find that to be difficult if it's been glued or
assembled with rivets.

I've restored operation of power tools quite a few times by opening the
varispeed and cleaning the switch contacts and resistive strip, and applying
some DeOxit paste to them. Dust and fine dirt can get into them.
If that doesn't work, a replacement part might be the best solution to have
get a dependable repair.

Making a drawing of the wire placement and connections can be very helpful
when servicing power tools.

you guessed it! faulty trigger, but I should say that intermittent
falures are the oddest items to repair. Set the saw down on the bench
and remove both halves of the case. Now place your multimeter probes
across the contacts of the speed control and plug in the power. Is the
voltage high? Good, you found the problem and can get replacements at
radio shack. Good luck!

I opened up the switch and checked the little diode inside ( both ways
+-) ) with a digital multimeter on the diode setting and found it open

I will probably replace the switch if I can easily find one cheap .
Also I damaged (ugh) the SCR connections so I will have to repalce it
too . Thanks for your help .
