Any idea where I can find a door switch for a Goldstar microwave? I tried
Sears, as they handle some Goldstar parts, but they came up blank on that
model number.

Did you look in your user booklet to see where their authorized service rep
is? Also, if you call around some of the places that sell Goldstar, you can
ask where they send their Goldstar products back for the warranty service.
Goldstar is part of LG. You can also try to look up LG.

http://us.lge.com/support/index.html is supposed to be their factory
service information. It is possible that they may not want to sell the
parts. They may give you a local place to bring your microwave for them to
change the switches. Many of these manufactures are like this now.

Do you have an appliance repair shop in your area? Many times these switches
are generic parts, I was able to buy a replacement for my mom's GE when the
switch failed about a year ago, it was just a generic door switch and it
went right in.

Good thought. I called the local Mar-Beck and they don't sell any internal
microwave parts. I presume it's a liability issue.

Wayne,
Most of the door switches in microwaves are standard. If you found a scrap
unit chances are it would work. Test the switch and pay attention to the
lead configuration, NO or NC. Radio Shack has one that might work 900-8716.
You will have to match it up.

Good luck
