I have a Sharp Carousel microwave model R-4E53. I am looking for a
schematic or info about the door lockout switches.
Silicon Chip published an article about using an old microwave timer
for electronic projects, but i can't get the timer to work without a
door closed signal. As I do not have the rest of the microwave it's
hard to chase wires. ny help to get working appreciated.

Regards Philip

I'm unfamiliar with your specific model but the following might help.

1. Door interlock switches have to close in the correct order otherwise they
short out the mains and blow the fuse.
2. But as far as the controller is concerned it just needs the status of
it's relevant interlock switch(es) to be correct for operation. Usually only
one switch enables the controller
3. BTW usually there is a circuit diagram in the lid of the microwave.
