Hi, I recently broke the LCD panel of my 32 inch led tv. The circuits and the other bits are working fine. Can I salvage the circuit and use it with a lcd of smaller type say laptop screen of 30 pin connector and resolution of 1366x768? The broken panel is 30 pin of the above mentioned resolution.

It shouldn't be possible to use it with a smaller one. The resolution does not matter as much (if the controller is made for multiple resolutions). But a different inch display should not work. Make sure that the connectors are exactly the same, if they are and the old chip is made for multiple resolutions (including yours) its worth the risk.

Best bet would be to get one of those universal LCD driver boards for the LCD you actually have - get one with an input that your (dud) TV set can actually output i.e. composite video, HDMI-out etc.

You need a complete set of datasheet for that driver and LCD candidates. I trying to pair a Fluke 123 with any commercial LCD and its hard because different communication protocols and characteristics. I have some good candidates
