Imp !!! - Help needed in Thesis

My thesis is about Bluetooth home control system and i am required to do small task for this week which is lighting a normal bulb (220v) with 5v battery, any suggestions how to do that?? Since my major is communication and i am kindov lost in these electronics stuff

5v battery represent the voltage from Bluetooth module attached on micro-controller that ll be connected to this circuit later instead of battery

I don't think they meant that the 5V battery must power the bulb, I think they meant that the 5V signal must turn a bulb on. You could use a relay, where the 5V signal from a microcontroller switches the 240V AC current.

I concur with Serious, a relay is the best way to control mains current using digital logic voltage levels.
