Does anyone know if Everfocus has software for extracting and saving
images to a PC? We have an EDSR100, and it has a compact flash card
and slot, but there is no way to save an image while viewing through
the web browser. If there is, where can I get it? Have not been able
to get to tech support or their websight email. Any help would be
appreciated.

cant help you on everfocus, but if you had a kalatel DSR I could give
you free software for it, and it comes with that feature with their
free software. Its more expensive though.

How is the Everfocus DVR anyway, jus tcurious as ive seen it around
and liked the pricing but havent used one yet. I would be interested
to know if they can give you a control to make your own software, but
you say the tech support doesnt reply? Let us know what happens
thanks

Hey,
Thanks, but I've already got the Kalatel Software. Finally got a
reply from Everfocus, and they're sending me their software, they call
it PowerCon Software, whatever that means<g>.
As far as using Everfocus, so far I'm not that impressed. But
that is based on only using that 1 EDSR100. It has a built in compact
flash reader and comes with a 32MB card. That would be fine if compact
flash readers were as common as floppy drives or CD drives, but right
now, if you don't own a digital camera that uses CF, you don't have a
reader. The file saved in it's highest resolution (superior) only
takes up 33k, so a few dozen could fit on a floppy easily. Copying
motion files is done in Apple's .mov format, and it takes about 5
seconds to copy each frame. If it's a low frame rate file, that's not
as bad. But it took an hour to save a 12 second file at 30fps. Also,
the image jumps from frame to frame. Almost like it wants to roll, but
it doesn't.
I don't know, maybe I'm being too critical. But, I am just not
very impressed with that DVR. Just my $0.02
