Does anybody have any experience on resonance in electrical systems &
circuits. What is its effect and what causes it.
Thanks

A component which stores energy can interact with other energy storage
components. Sometimes, very large swapping of energy can occur, often when
there is stimulation at or near a 'resonant' frequency. Go push up and down
on your car's bumper. At certain frequencies (resonant frequencies) you can
really get the car hopping with relatively little pushing. Here I guess the
energy storage components would be the springs (which store energy when
extended or compressed out of their 'relaxed' length) and the mass of the
car (which stores energy as kinetic and/or gravitational energy). In
electric circuits, energy storage components are often capacitors (or
capacitances, such as line to ground capacitance of a cable or transmission
line) and inductors (or inductances, such as self and mutual inductance of
conductors, and magnetizing and leakage inductances of motors and
transformers).
Do you have a specific application in mind where you are wondering about
cause and effect? Electronics? Harmonics? Switching?
