DVD freezes at the same time on any dvd

Hi all, I have a projector with built in dvd , when playing any dvd it freezes at the same time , is this something wrong with the laser , sticking on it’s track ?? Or some thing else, also if you go to scene selection it plays scenes before the freeze time , but won’t play any scenes after the time.The only way I can watch a full dvd through the projector is to play through an external DVD player , so ruled out the projector over heating , any advise would be great, the projector is a “MOVIE TIME “ brand

Yes, sounds as if the laser tracking arm - usually a 'spiral' rod - is sticking.

Depends on the skill sets you have.

If you are confident of taking it apart and having a look, perhaps powering it up whilst in bits, it should be easy to see how the fault is occurring and, perhaps, an easy fix.
