So yeah,
If you have a coil and make a magnet pass through it, can it be a generator?
Lets say that coil is of many many many turns. So can it be a generator?

That looks like a typical generator where there are coils and in the center a permanent magnets.

What if we made a coil with a lot of turns and shot a manget back and forth back and forth and so on.

Would that work?
Its like the idea of that flash when you shake it a lot and it powers up!

And what if the magnet's initial velocity is 50m/s then it decreased.
Do you think the coil still can generate power?

Have you ever seen one of those flashlights that you shake to power?

But I was wondering.
Can this concept be worked as a generator? A huge generator.
That is powered by gas?

with gas? ... are you going to piston the magnet back and forward ?

no reason why not.

Btw that video I picked up randomly from many others...
So I didn't know if it was authentic.

Yea,
Well.
I want to build something UNIQUE!
Not the typical old rotor/generator.

So you think it wold work huh? If I piston'ed it back and forth?

Plus how would it work?
I mean, when the magnet passes through the coil at a certain speed will it generate 100W for example?

Or buy passing the coil two times (back/ forth) then will it generate full power?
I think by only passing the coil once it can generate its full potential.
Provided that the speed + gas flow is constant

I noticed its all based on the velocity.
If the speed of the magnet started( for example ) 300m/s with a certain force passing thought the coil it could generate 100W.
As the speed starts to decrease, that power starts to drop.
So the power input has to boost the magnet's movement.

But thats basically how I can imagine it working.
What do you think of this?

Its dependant on a number of things

the strength of the magnet
the number of turns on the coil
yes the velocity of the magnet will have some effect... but in the end there is still a given magnetic field strength cutting through xxx number of turns of the coil

As I said ... yes it will work...
but qualifying that statement, you will need to figure out if the efficiency is good or bad
that will be the deciding factor on whether the project is worthwhile

Thats the issue.
I can't really estimate anything! I have to build a model.
But I'm just giving myself good reasons to pursue this further and and not regret it when I'm done.

BTW.
By increasing the number of turns, there has to be a limit.
I mean the magnet's B field can't cant through all the layers.
Just a few.
The flux lines can't reach out that far maybe?

So many things to calculate.
I just can't figure out where to start!

Any advices?

If I build a good coil.
It could potentially get a lot of power output, when the magnet passes through it I think it give that punch!
As the magnet passes back(Power at maybe 100W) and forth(power alos equal to back at 100W).

Very optimistic about this, it looks promising.

Except that it is it probably much less efficient than spinning the magnet or coils.
