Hi cyberteen.
Welcome to the forum, can you post make of the unit, a picture will do, and another of the battery, this will help to narrow down a supplier willing to sell a single unit, rather than a trade amount. :)

Hi there. This morning uk time i am on my phone, cheap old thing, anyway i cant view the images very well, but i put the pc on later, unless another member pops in before. What i can see looks like the battery surface is distorted, not sure, i can see more detail on the pc later.

Hi cyberteen.
Sorry ive not got back sooner, sporadic internet connection problems.
Any way i cant find the model that looks like yours, ive found a battery supplier, but not sure if it stocks yours.
You could email the seller, not sure on physical size of yours or connection, but this seller item might be ok, if not they might be able to get one in. :)

hi dave,

i am so thankful to you, i will try to contact that seller. But i would be more grateful, if i could get hold on one in U.S.

Also will 650mAh be suitable as my player came with a 500mAh battery?

The unit in your link has flying leads, i cant see a plug on the battery leads, so you might have to solder your old plug or leave some wire on the old plug to allow you to solder it on, then shrink sleave on each wire, but a new plug might be available to solder on the flying leads, ive not seen the connector. And 650 milliamp hour is fine, just gives a bit longer run time between charges.

i think i dont have a plug in my player for the battery. The leads of the battery have been directly soldered on to the board.
Also would those made for rc toys work? and what are those 30C , 15C.... specs on those batteries

I dont know how you charge the player when the battery is low, RC toys connections are generally heavier connections, if the wires are directly soldered to the pcb, then you might have to do the same for the new battery.

there's a micro USB port there in my player. So i use a USB cable to connect to USB wall adapter and charge it or sometimes even thru PC

Different kind of batt.?

Dave,

U see, i am tired of searching for just one lipo battery. Definitely it might wear out one day or the other. I cant keep searching out for another.. So can i use any other kind of battery, to run it, which is available in the market easily.

Yes is the answer to your question, you can find a battery to fit inside the mp4's existing battery compartment, or add a set of wires, multi strand, mode the player by pulling the wires through the case and use a bigger battery, or there are DC connectors capable of using this idea, i dont know how much room you have to work with, or if you see an external power source as exceptable, any battery external can be held with Velcro or some thing similar.

Ive added external power sources to all sorts of battery elecrtronic items, it give more flexibility, but remember it voids warranty, and its fairly permanent.

I have a multi meter modded to run of an AC or DC source, so it can remain on for indefinite periods, my modding of this meter has not compromised its accuracy, an example if you like, oh its not a top end model like a fluke, that would be a crime. :D

so u mean to say any kind of DC supply of 3.7V/500mAh like li-ion, Nimh or even alkaline will work without causing damage to my player?

Yes it will, so long as you can make the connections, and you can charge the new modded battery.
Oh dont try and charge alkaline batterys these will probably explode taking your player with it, but if you want to use alkaline batterys fit a battery pack holder and add the required cells, if the voltage is a little over drop it with a diode forward biased. :)

Hi. that lipo is very close to the lipo batteries they use in some 3 channel rc helis like the syma models. they are very common and inexpensive. food for thought:)

here's an example of a vendor but it appears to be out of stock. there are lots of rc heli parts vendors out there and a soldering iron would all that woud be required.

hmm. i have that syma heli. so it looks like the batt. u said is very cheap. So r u sure, it wont my player in no way. Just soldering into the terminals on PCB will work?

Also, say whether li-ions can be used?
