    Toner transfer testing @ Steve

I am experimenting with toner transfer and was browsing your log :- https://www.electronicspoint.com/projectlogs/toner-transfer-for-pcbs-having-bga-packages-on-them.24/ Is it possible for you to attach the board files for your test boards? I need to do some challenging tests. pilko

    Toner transfer testing

I have tried dozens of magazine papers and temperatures. There are many thicknesses of paper, but 2 mil thick has worked the best for me.

    Toner transfer testing

@chopnhack. it's just a board file I borrowed from the web @BobK :- Glossy magazine paper, 2.0 mils thick. Cheapest Samsung laser printer mod ML-2165W Iron controlled at 170*C Heavy pressure for 1 minute (moving around) Rinse under cold tap for 30 seconds Peel and rub off. ---- hope that helps...

    Toner transfer testing

Hi everyone, I am currently experimenting with different papers, temperatures and pressures . I am having good results with the board shown. The fine traces are 6 mil with 6 mil spacing. I am using Eagle Light. Can anyone post or link to some more challenging board files or images. I once came...

    Power supply purchase

Thanks Dave for the response. I think you are correct about the current limit. I wasn't sure about this part of spec :- "Intelligent protection: Tracking OVP, Tracking OCP, OTP, Output short circuit protection." pilko

    Power supply purchase

Hi all, Does this PS look OK for general DIY projects? The price fits my budget and it has some good reviews. Thanks, pilko http://www.banggood.com/CPS-3205-0-32V-0-5A-Portable-Adjustable-DC-Power-Supply-110V220V-p-934530.html

I need to locate a millisecond delay timer / multi circuit /relay

Millisecond sequential timers are used extensively by explosives demolition companies and fireworks display companies. You may be able to rent one from them or get one from their supplier. pilko

    Alternative Energy.....

@ chopnhack " I have an article I will try to find on using waste heat from heat pumps to provide hot water" I play around a lot with my heat pump and would be interested in your article. If you cannot find it, can you briefly describe it ? --- thanks @ OP sorry for hijacking, will start a new...

Could this FET be used to switch 12V/30A from a PIC

You are using the formula P=V * A, which is OK but when the mosfet is on, the V across the source / drain is very low. When the mosfet is off, the voltage across the source / drain is around 12V but now the current is almost zero. This is why it is better to use KBNZ's formula.

Could this FET be used to switch 12V/30A from a PIC

"Those FETs you gave links to all seem to have Max Power of about 360 watt, so I think at 12V they would be limited to 30A in any event, which would still be close to limits in my case." You have calculated the current incorrectly.---- Use KBNZ's formula in post 3 item 1. P = I^2 * Rdson...

My friend is considering disrupting the electronics components market in our city

This Guy is doing similar to what you are planning. He does not ship outside the US. His prices and deliveries are good. His offerings may give you some ideas. We are in desperate need of a good supplier in Canada. Good Luck. http://stores.ebay.com/Thai-Shine

Power supply Current limiting , using what value resistor? Mercury Relays are dirty

@ (*steve*) Thanks for the replay. My question was not very clear. What I really want to know is how is the current limit achieved electronically.

Power supply Current limiting , using what value resistor? Mercury Relays are dirty

@ (*steve*) How does the current limit work with your unit. In other words, how does it enable you to set it before a load is connected.

    Printer for PCB Toner Transfer

@ Steve, Thanks for the info. @ Fish, Re. printing direct to PCB. I think all you need is a printer that accepts disks in the feed tray. Some other printers come with a CD tray adaptor -- I have an Epson Photo 1400 that uses an adapter. I looked into using it but apparently you need special...
