I recently disassembled 82 CD-ROMs because I need the head positioning
mechanisms for a project.
I'm wondering what, if anything, the leftover components in the heads
might be used for.
They have to be removed, so I surely won't wind up with the entire 82,
and there are a variety of manufacturers and styles, but I could
surely salvage a dozen identical ones without too much trouble and a
larger number of quite similar ones.
Any ideas for simple projects and/or uses for these things?
