Hi,

I want to build a little switch box to make the turning on and off of one of my USB devices a little more convenient. Originally I planned to use a simple DPST switch with the +V and +Data lines but I've what I've read online implies that I need to kill both the Data + and - lines to "disconnect" the device.

I was tinkering with the idea of using a few SSRs but my device requires a good part of the 500mA from the USB so I cant afford too much (if any!) current drain.

Does anyone know a solution for this?

Gratefully,
HKS

Actually for a powered device, killing the +5V line should do the trick as it then won't be able to send anything on the data line?
