I cant seem to find any of these thru the normal distributors (except the 2n22222)

The 2SD467 and 2SB561 seem to be run-of-the-mill NPN/PNP transistors - what I used to refer to (elektor-style) as TUN and TUP devices. There's nothing special about them and practically ANY low power, low voltage silicon devices will do.

TUN (and TUP) stand for Transistor Universal NPN (or PNP when called TUP) which are effectively ANY low signal silicon transistors such as the BC547/557 - here's a link to a Googl search result that lists tables of TUN/TUP transistors. Fill yer boots!

Thank you...more than likely, I wont be blessed with the same pinouts.
Im very lucky that the original units actually have the pinout names on the body

I always recommend one of those cheap Chinese component testers that will identify the lead-out, the gain of the transistor and some other parameters like Vbe - as well as dud ones of course!

I actually think I will buy one, they are cheap as chips

The plastic Pn2222 and Pn2907 should work fine in your situation for the 2SD467 and 2SB561 motor drivers .
The Pn2222 should also fill for the 2SA945 function.
The pin arrangements, side by side , are also the same, but you have to watch their 180 degree positioning .
