hi i did a gitital thermometer with an 8051 micro . The system is working perfect ,but when Iadded a 2.5m cable to the sensor the reading is varying a lot. eg from 12 to 30 degrees which the actual temperature is about 15degrees

You could try using a screened cable (co-ax) to keep out interference.

Il will try to use coaxial cable , currently I am using twisted pair but not screened.
