Hello,

I have just been handed a Toughpower 750W power supply (part number W0116 by Thermaltake).

Power supply:-

I am told it does not work and that i should fix it.

Do you know if there's any way of finding a schematic for this?

I believe its a computer power supply......so am i right in saying that powering it up on its own will not allow it to work?, since it needs microprocessor signals from the computer to coordinate with it and tell it to start up?

If it's working and you power it up, all you'll get is a standby 5V and 3.3V rail (I think). There is another lead that needs a logic level to start the rest of the PSU.

The pinouts for the motherboard connector are available on the web, and they should also point you to the other info you need.

It's also worthwhile arranging to have some moderate load on the supply rails. Some of these PSUs either won't power up without them, or will give you voltages that are way out of spec.
