Hello,

While working abroad, I purchased 4 years ago the latest update of
Electronic Design Studio 2 from the UK based company Quickroute
Systems.

I never used this software and 2 weeks ago, I loaded it in y computer
for a project but could not because the software request a floppy to
unlock the system.
I still have the dongle but I have misplaced this floppy in the move.

I contacted the compagny with copy of my invoice but no reply and it
look like it is impossible to connect the web site and I ad no answer
to the E-Mail I send.

Do you know who took over this organisation and the new address.
How to get this system working or I have lost more than 300 British
Pound in that stupid type of protection.

I am a proper customer who has pay the normal price to acquire this
product legally and like to be able to use it.

Thanks for your help and Best Regards.

Patrick.

They are out of business.

As you have no doubt discovered, http://www.quickroute.co.uk/
is dead. It has passed on. This webpage is no more. It has
ceased to be. It has expired and gone to meet its maker. This
is a late ebpage. It's a stiff. Bereft of life, it rests in
peace. It is pushing up the daisies. It has rung down the
curtain and joined the choir invisible. This is an ex-webpage.
The chances that the company still exists is close to zero,
and the chancs that someone else now supports the product
is also close to zero.

The next thing to try (it won't work, but you should try
anyway) is snail-mail, fax and telephone:

Quickroute Systems Ltd
Regent House, Heaton Lane, Stockport, SK4 1BS, U.K.
Tel 0161 476 0202
Fax 0161 476 0505
[email protected]
http://www.quickroute.co.uk/

Next, search for the freeware version with the highest revision
number and download it before all copies of it disapear. Yes, I
know that you want to run the paid version, but trust me, you
also want the freeware version. Start here:
http://www.google.com/search?q=Quickroute+freeware+download

Also, check eBay on a regular basis in case someone has a copy
for sale at a low price.

Next, start looking for a crack that defeats the copy protection.
I can do a quick search of the usual sites if you give me the
exact version number you are running.

Last, consider this a lesson learned. Don't buy products that
have copy protection if you have any other choice. Whenever
possible, use Open Source software running on an Open Source
operating system.

I'm near Regents House next week. Think I'll call in and gloat maniacally
over their demise.
Bought one once. Used it for 30 minutes. Found it so bad I eventually
managed to get a refund under the sale of goods act. "Goods must be fit for
the purpose intended" !.
And yet 'ole PC Logic has just called a halt, although they have a much
better prog'. Strange world.
