Magnavox TS2744 sound ok, picture bad

I have a 27" maganavox color tv TS2744 C103. The sound seems to be ok. The
picture is mostly black with a narrow vertical band about 1/4" wide x 4" high
at the lower left of the screen in addition to a thin horizontal multicolored
line that runs across the screen up from the bottom of the tube about 3 - 4
inches. Any known problems with similar sets or similar repair solutions to my
problem? The chassis is 27B80-7562. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Vertical circuit failure. Could be vertical ic solder connections. Solder
connection induced failure of the ic and subsequent opening of either or
both the B+ and B- scan derived power supply sources. Possible shorting of
the scan derived b+ or b- diodes. Fairly straightforward to repair for any
competant tech.

There are some parts upgrades for that circuit and other service tips from
Philips to improve that circuit that should be followed for repair.

Well under a $90 usual total repair cost in most areas when you take the tv
in for repair.
