Hello all, I once tried to describe this defect on my
TV, but I didn't do it adequately.
I've found the technical description on the net
(an Ah-Ha! moment)
and there's a reference to it here, in the blurb on "interlaced"
http://members.aol.com/ajaynejr/vidglos4.htm#StartI

Any tips on what component(s) might be responsible,
appreciated.

No input on this? It's an annoying problem,
extra bright scan lines where the odd/even are
overlaying each other, followed by a black line
that's not scanned.

I was hoping for some input on where to look.

Happy Holidays!
thanks for the info. Any likely area's?
Some web searches have mentioned this
symptom in association with the "fop chip".
However, I've yet to discover what this is,
or even whether it's a red herring.

I had a professional servicer, Sony authorized, at
the house (for some other problem) who professed
ignornace of this problem even after I showed it to him.
Needless to say, I wont be using him again.
