Where can you buy laser diodes? Blue ones specifically. I'm thinking of making a Dead Space like gun and I want it to use three blue lasers.

Thanks for any help.

That wasn't very helpful. Everything that is brought up is extremely too expensive. I'm looking for cheaper parts. Wondering if there are any special places that people on here get them for cheap.

As far as I know everyone here (or at least those of us at hobby level) shops in the same way - from the same sites that will come up top in a search.

One thing did dawn on me since last time though. Laser diodes are typically the basic components used in other laser products and anything I've seen in the past has usually only related to mass production. Try searching for laser MODULES.

The best place is probably to salvage blue lasers from old blue ray DVD players.
They are expensive.

Generally a laser printer uses a much longer wavelength than blue.
I have salvaged red Lasers from laser writers for CD's but this can be dangerous to the eyes. They can produce hundreds of milliwatts of laser light around 660 nm.
By the way blue lasers can be very dangerous to the eyes also. Many people have been hurt by lasers. Look around on the Internet.
