Hitachi C32WD2TN2 - Problem

Hello

I have a Hitachi C32WD2TN2 which used to keep switching it's self off
after switch on, this was usually accompined by a loud bang...Usually,
after several attemps the television would remain on and everything
would be fine......

It has now decided to stop off altogether and will not switch back
on....

When pressing teh remote teh LED goes dim, a line apears on the
screen, then teh LED goes bright again.....

I have researched the problem on teh trusty net, and belive teh
problem may lie with the TDA8350Q chip.....

Can anyone relate to this problem, and will the problem be solved by
changing the Chip ??, assuming so, where can i locate the Chip on the
PCB's

My Hitachi TV, can't remember the product code has just started to
switch itself to standby, with a loudish bang. The set can then be
switched back on straight away. This has only happened twice in the
last month. Is this good old (about 8 years) set on it's way out?
