Fuse for Tek 465M

Hello:

I have bought a Tek 465M from ebay. The scope seem to be in good condition,
an was calibrated on 29/08/2002 (it has 7 days calibrated .

On the back side it sais 115 volts only, but it has a switch so you can set
it to 220v. I suppose that message is only because it has a fuse to work
with 115v (1A fuse), but if i chage it to a 0.5A fuse it should work...
right?. So what kind of fuse needs? A normal fast one? or need something
special?


One more thing. I have not the manual, any place where i can get it free?

You need a 1 amp fast blow from what I can remember. It is about 20
years since I have worked with a 465.

Another thing is that at 120 V the scope will pull 2 times the amount of
amperes as at 220 V. The power consumption in wattage should be the
same. If the fuse is on the AC side, it will have to be double the
ampere rating at 120 V to be okay.

If you really want to be sure, did you get the user book with the scope?

Hello:

years since I have worked with a 465.

Another thing is that at 120 V the scope will pull 2 times the amount of
amperes as at 220 V. The power consumption in wattage should be the

The scope has (when arribed) an 1A Fuse and was set to work with 220v, but
in the back cover sais:
1A Fuse => 115v
0.5A Fuse => 230v
So i think the scope was working at 115v, and when the seller test it, it
just change the voltage switch, without changing the fuse.
The problem was what kind of fuse to install, but as you have said i
installed a 0.5A Fast fuse, an everything works fine... ))

If you really want to be sure, did you get the user book with the scope?

Nope, It comes with cover, main lead, probes, but no manuals... :´-(. Do you
know where i can get a service manual for a tek 465M?

Manuals for the 465 scope are available pretty cheap on Ebay. They are
available on CDROM from several sellers, also from a few internet vendors.
