Frequency conversion from 400 Hz to 50/60 Hz

We need to use a particular device which is intended to use with 220-240V, 50/60 Hz, 16 A, now as an aircraft has has 400 Hz. supply. How we can use this device in aircraft. Also, the frequency converter manufacturing companies are very less specially for step down. please suggest.

What is the 'particular device'?
Can it be modified?
Will it accept output from a 'modified sinewave' type inverter, or only from a 'pure sinwave' inverter?
What is the aircraft supply voltage?

If it can be modified, can it be run on DC, rectified from the 400Hz supply?

I suspect the 16A is not the current drawn at 220V....

Anything with a switchmode power supply is likely to be perfectly happy with 400Hz.

Devices with transformers may also work.

I have seen a large number of test instruments that are rated for various voltages at 50/60 Hz, and for a limited subset at 400Hz. If you've ever operated your laptop on board an aircraft then you've been operating it from a 400Hz supply (far more likely than not)

Best thing is to ask the manufacturer since it's often more of an issue if something fails (especially if it fails with smoke and flames) in an aircraft.
