Does anyone know what the SL8 alarm is?

I have just moved into a house with an alarm branded SL8 (the 8 is raised
above the SL). I live in the UK (Lancashire, England).

I have been left an instruction booklet but it doesn't give any contact
information, or the details of the engineer who installed the alarm.

My confusion is on how the alarm is supposed to operate. When I enter my
house, the alarm activates immediately, where really I want 10 seconds to
enter my code first. The booklet doesn't tell me if I can do this.

Also, I can omit a zone on the alarm when I choose the program, but it
doesn't seem to remember this ommision next time. So I need to know if I
can "save" my program.

Does anyone here know of this alarm, or can point me at the company that
makes it/sells it so I can find out the information?

A bit of extra info - the alarm panel has the words Compact SL written on
the front.
