The first two c's make a hard one. The last c is soft and you don't say Maa,
you say Muh. (just guessing)
Mind you, I have often found that if you ask the person giving you a
servicing how you should say it then they tell you.
Oooh, perhaps I should have said 'if I ask'.... you probably come across as
an American with a big toilet.... and they think you need it.
I'm sure Ban might have something to say on the subject.

I'm waiting for Ban ;-)
Just e-mailed it to the biker man...... Are you up to watch the sunrise?

As usual, you want something but expect who has what you want to
come to you.
Ever heard of email???
Can someone provide me with the correct PHONETIC pronunciation of
Rocca delle Macie
I will try but I don't know about the PHONEME:
Ro-cca is like ro-bert and ca-nada (the cc is stronger than a single c)
de-lle is the same, always pronuonce the vowels well formed
Ma-ci-e ci is like ci-linder ( I hope ! the 'c' is between the 'c' of
cat and the s-like in cigaret or cinema
for us, from italy, is easy to say and difficult to explain
Jim said:So Ro-ka del-la muh-ci-uh would be close?
Or Ro-cha ??
ro-ka del-le mah-ci-e
ka is very strong
a like a-tom
e like e-lephant
we always use the same pronounce for each vowels they don't change
are you planning to take a tour in italy ?

Hey John! I've heard that some people get cranky and out of sorts in
their old age, but you're overdoing it.
Whatsamata? Constipated ?

LOL, when I get on someone else's case and you don't like them, you
egg me on and even shoot some of your own barbs into the mix, but
when it's you that's being criticized it's all of a sudden like
_I'm_ old and cranky and overdoing it?
So... if she's a princess, then *you* had to do all the cooking?Surely you are not turning into another Bob widlar?
Rocca delle Macie
My take on it is
Rocca - Long O, Cs pronounced as Ks, short A
delle - Dell-e
Macie - long A, ci = ch, sounds like machie
The above based on being married to an IAP for 32 years.
Would have been easier to record the sound but I don't have a mike here.
*IAP = Italian-American Princess
'Rocca' is 'roka', with 'o' as in 'rock', 'delle' is 'dele', with both
'e' pronounced as in 'tell'. 'Macie' is more difficult, I think.
Something like 'machye', with 'a' as in 'father', 'ch' as in 'charm' and
'ye' as in 'Ye gods!'.

The pronunciation of the moment is regarding Rocca delle Macie Chianti
