It is obvious that fluid flows through the device, until it stops flowing. But unlike a capacitor, you have introduced a non-linearity. Nevertheless if the pressure keeps increasing in an attempt to cause more fluid to flow, the device will eventually fail -- just like a capacitor.
From looking at it without knowing what's inside, this appears to be true.
But as said before.. can you say there is a path through if you put in purple water and get clear water out?

The definition of "through" does not apply to what is happening inside the capacitor, or in the provided examples. A different volume, or charge leaves than what enters.
