Can I remove this tuner without soldering?

I have an RCA ctc169Js6

model# G35830wk

I am having intermittent "going out" of channels 2 and 4 "over the air"
channels with screetching when it does.

I have read it could be the tuner.

The TV is too difficult to move myself and no one is home during the
day.

1. How do I tell if the tuner is the problem?
2. If it is, can I remove the tuner myself to take it into a repair
shop? Do I have to desolder anything?

I called the repair shop and she said since it does not do it with the
satelite and vcr, and only does it for weak stations on over the air,
it was probably just the way the tv is supposed to be.
I dont think that sounds right.

How much would a new tuner be?

No, you need to pull the chassis back, Remove any screws holding on the plasic
back piece including the nut or nuts on the CATV connector, pull the back piece
clear of the tuner, then unsolder aprox 15 connections to remove the tuner for
work.

Not too many television repair shop would be interested in diagnosing,
troubleshooting, repairing and checking out a tuner module WITHOUT the rest
of the television to go along with it.
Not only is it very difficult to do this kind of work without the rest of
the television circuitry BUT so called "tuner problems" can many times be
caused by the support circuitry that is not in the tuner module.
Take the entire television into a service shop for at the very least a
repair cost estimate so you can make an intelligent repair decision with
facts instead of internet or telephone wild guesses.

RCA used multiple tuners in the CTC169 chassis would need the m-2060
type number to tell exactlu how much. If it is a 200075 part # Thomson
suggested price is $83.25 This was a common problem with this chassis
YES it has multiple solder connections I would not recomend trying to
change unless a expierenced technican does it. You can get a tech to
remove it & have rebuilt for considerbly less C GROB
