    To Denny 1.jpg

This Logo is on a high-end DAC made in 1982.
Does anybody recognize what company this is?
    Thanks

Show us a larger area, if possible with a device number on it. This "logo" doesn't ring a bell with me.

    Me either Harald.
I don't have access to it any more, the peripheral was in and out of the shop in a couple of hours. I asked one
of the guys to take a picture of the logo, because I hadn't ever seen it before, so I could ask here.
This is just a curiosity request for identification.
I'm guessing it was a failed company, or one that merged with somebody else.
I can't keep up with all of the new start-up IC mfgrs that come and go any more,
but it was unique to me, to see a logo from a manufacturer of a 1982 IC, that I hadn't ever seen before.
Still hoping somebody here recognizes it.

    I don't think it's Plessey.
It looks like an 'I' with a single sinewave after it.
The hunt is interesting to me. I would imagine it was a manufacturer that folded (or merged).
I suppose I'll be looking for an out-of-business' manufacturer.
    Thanks for the help Alec_t.

Unfortunately, Lattice was founded in 1983.
I appreciate the search kellys_eye, I'm having a tough time identifying this one.

It looks like the Mosaic Semi logo.
Third column, 26th row. Marked with Blue for you.

http://www.plasma-online.de/english/identify/picture/index_logochip.html <-- more hunting but these are the small IC variants! Voltera is the most similar I can spot

it would help to know the package type or just general package style of the IC.

this may be an "alternate logo" that was a simplified version of their more common logo that's too complex or doesn't scale well for printing on the chip package. (it may be totally different than their common logo)

TECHNICALLY should be here but I don't see anything automated or a dump: https://www.uspto.gov/learning-and-...and-trademark-resource-centers-ptrc/resources

Not Mosaic, but thanks for searching Low Voltage.
Thanks for the links to check virtual1.
Because I've never seen this logo before, I'm tending to think it's a company that wasn't around for very long (or
was bought-out by some other company). I'm and old guy. It's disappointing to me every time I read about one of
the big companies I was used to, selling-out. Burr-Brown here in Tucson, AZ, and National Semiconductor were
both bought out by Texas Instruments. RCA was bought-out years ago by GE. The list goes on.
I don't often find company logos that I've never seen before, so this one caught my eye, ...
    continuing the search.
Thanks for all the help everybody.

I don't know when I'll see another one come into the shop, but I do have the manual.
I'll see if I can glean the info from the schematic. There was no actual parts list in the manual that I could obtain the manufacturer of the DAC from. I appreciate the help you guys are giving me. This is one of those things that has me stumped and it irritates me that I can't figure it out.

The company logo I'm trying to identify is in my initial post. The date code on the IC is 8216.
The schematic lists the device itself as DAC346C 12 BP.
Hope that helps trying to figure-out who the manufacturer was.

I'll be damned. That company logo is Sipex.
I didn't even think of Googling just the device number by itself to see all the companies that manufactured it.
Thanks for the insistence that I find the actual part number.
I remember Sipex, I sure don't remember ever seeing that logo before.
Sipex was around from 1965 to 2007, when they were bought by EXAR.
Thanks for helping me with the search everybody.
