Blocking Diodes

I've heard a bit about Blocking Diodes. As I understand it, they are used to direct current in one direction. IE, to prevent reverse flow at night, discharging the batteries.

I have a small 15W panel for my trailer and a 100AH deep cell battery. The panel is attached to a small 30amp charge controller. The panel is an ICP panel purchased from Canadian Tire.

Do I need a blocking diode for this? Is the battery discharging at night?

You will need either a charge controller or a blocking diode, otherwise
battery current will backflow through solar cells at night. If you have a
charge controller, you're OK.
