Im researching the electrical compliance of my 7 year old Metricon home after a bad day yesterday chasing faults.
Can you point me in the right direction?
Re AS3008
It transpires the builder has used 3 x 40 amp rcd circuit breakers in the meter box.
The 40 amp breaker tripping 2-3 minutes after being reset had 18 dbl GPOs and 12 lights on it including 4 X
HPM 10 Amp AQUA Double Switched Weatherproof
Which as it happens were full of salty moisture and dirt with corroded screws.
These proved to be the problem.
Is this legal?

So, replace them ....
anything with corrosion is going to cause a problem ... how did they become exposed to salty moisture ?

Thanks Davenn
New info as from today.
It took 7 years for them to fail.
However it transpires they were not installed properley.
Internal base plate screws designed to have pips covering the screw heads( fixed into green wall plugs) however all hpm aqua ppts have no pips covering screw heads.???
99% waterproof is not water proof as all, as it turns out.
