380V/460V -> 12V Universal PSU

Hi all,

I need to build a small psu, which will run on European and US voltages,
3phase, no 0-carrier availble, thus running from two phases, hence the 380
and 460.
The output will be running a small mechanical device on 12VDC (200mA
intermittent) and a microprocessor on 5VDC (25mA contineous).
The design must be small, reliable and sepperated from mains 100%.

Anyone have a suggestion?

Tankx a lot.

I'd persue the traditional isolation transformer -> rectifier -> linear
regulator approach, but the transformer may be a challenge. You may have to
go to a custom transformer, or use two identical 220V transformers with the
primaries in series and the secondaries in parallel. Check your isolation
voltage rating, though.

You should also look and see if somebody doesn't already make a transformer
for this application -- surely someone has already solved this problem
before you.
