    VFD causing noise

Vfd is a Mitsubishi D740 1.5k motor is 3 phase and the field is controlled via a PWM supply that is manually adjusted

    VFD causing noise

Hi I got a small test rig that i built which is basically a phase converter (single to three phase) which i can use to supply a varying voltage and frequency to various devices... it consists of a three pole motor which is run by a VFD and a three phase alternator... you get idea o_O.... My...

    Erasing PIC16C54C

if they are erased electrically then why are they called EPROM, shouldn't they be called EEPROM ?

    Erasing PIC16C54C

Hi With my limited experience/info with microcontrollers an EPROM is erasable by exposing it to UV light, the chip has a window on top of it so the UV light can reach the chip inside the package. My question is: i have this PIC16C54C which as per the data sheet says it is an EPROM but, it don't...

    Differential signaling RS-485

Hi Martin. I got the idea clear on the software level, what is confusing me is the hardware level. So now that the Driver can be thought of as an H-bridge... how does the Receiver exactly work, what does it measure, does it simply measure the voltage between the two wires and regard to the...

    Differential signaling RS-485

Hi I am currently reading about serial communication and i am kind of stuck with the "Differential Signaling" part. While i do understand how "single ended" signaling works, i am unable to fully comprehend how you can transfer two different signals using only two wires without a third return...

    Magnetic Pickup Unit (MPU)

Hi Guys Saw an engine that had an MPU on the Flywheel. The thing is that this MPU has three wires. I haven't seen MPU's with three wires before nether do i understand what the third one is for ?. Any idea of the purpose ? The MPU outputs a frequency signal

    Battery question

beside the heat loses, what about the voltage drop that happens during the discharging of the battery, in the words the voltage wont stay at a certain level for the whole charge that the battery have and suddenly drop to zero after the battery reaches 0% charge level. doesn't that count as a...

    Battery question

W Assume a 12v battery that has a capacity of 100Ahr, charging that with 10A for 10 hours. will it be able to supply that 10A at atleast 12v for 10 hrs ?. Or will the voltage drop under 12v at a certain charge level which means you don't get the full power back ?

    differential amplifier

That is exactly what i am after, how do you supply +/- voltage to a opamp, is there any diagram ? I understand that without a negative voltage you cant get a negative voltage output and vice versa

    differential amplifier

If an opamp is supplied with 20v, and has the positive input at 1 volt and the negative input at 5 volts, it will show 4v at the output (no problem). But if the input voltages at the negative and positive is replaced with each other the output will show full supply voltage or 0 volt instead of...

    differential amplifier

Hi How does one make a differential amplifier show/output both negative and positive voltage differences. Example when the negative input is higher then the positive input and vice verse ? Sorry if i haven't made myself clear :(

    Generator AVR

Too little or almost no voltage most of the time is the problem that i face with generators. By variable supply you mean a Variac ? PS just to mention this is not a current problem that i am dealing with at the man time

    Arduino PIC

So as long as i don't exceed the current rating which is 40ma per pin no matter what voltage is across the resistor the PIC will survive ??? if i am right, providing 100vdc across a 100k resistor would not be a problem because the PIC will only receive 1ma ?

    Arduino PIC

Hi Using an Arduino controller or a PIC the input pins are rated at maximum 5v, if i am correct here. I am building a circuit that will be using a Arduino as a controller. So one of the circuits job is to measure a voltage that varies between 10-20 VDC. I am planning to use a voltage divider to...
