For Sale: 45 year collection of parts for sale

Thanks, I would have loved to go the the Dayton Ohio hamfest, but I am in Canada and have limited travel ability. I used to know somebody in throughout the 70's and 80's who used to go yearly. I would have preferred not to sell this stuff, but disability just doesn't cover the bills the past...

For Sale: 45 year collection of parts for sale

I forgot to mention, high voltage capacitors, high voltage rectifiers, used flyback transformers, knobs, prisms, motors, some tubes, etc. At my age I forget lots of things.

    Help me identify this part?

The wide silver band, means it is to military specificiations. Then it is 2, the gold stands for the decimal place, another 2, and the tolerance, so its a 2.2uh 10% inductor. This was one scheme for under 10uh inductors.

Composition of 1970's TRW Series HEW Capacitors?

Unless they are meant to take high peak currents like in snubber or pulse circuits where you would want low dielectric absorption, where you would want polypropylene (which are bigger), let us know how the metalized mylar (polyester) ones worked. TRW became ASC Capacitors and they have nothing...

    Whats this part?

The old Apple computer clones and boards used delay lines. I think they were essentially inductors with very high interwinding capacitance, the reason for the symbol they use. Yes that would be 400 nS. You can't get very long delays; They were just for digital signal delays.

What us the value of a Brown Grey Silver Gold Black resistor?

It is probably used for current sensing, such as for shutdown with shorts.

For Sale: High Voltage, RF and misc parts

There are pictures of most items and full descriptions at http://rf-highvoltage.qth.com/ I have a four decade personal accumulation of parts for sale including: RF power transistors (including the hard-to-find 2SC1589 for Yaseu), T0-5 BeO thermally conductive insulators, inductors...

    Capacitor Value

You might want to check your private messages too. I have been presuming you have the service manual for the Tektronix 7704a. If you don't you can get it here http://elektrotanya.com/tektronix_7704a.pdf/download.html just wait for the link to show up with a timed delay at the end of the...

    Capacitor Value

Yes, polarity is extremely important, or the capacitor will fry just like your old one. Tantalums are very sensitive to reverse polarity. If you are talking about the picture on the digikey site, under the picture it says, "mage shown is a representation only." Remember that the fried...

    Capacitor Value

Digikey.com has a number of them but you will be paying around $7.43 for it and similar items http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/T356M107K020AT/399-3674-ND/818535 Do you have a schematic? If it is for timing having the 10% tolerance may matter, but if it is just for power supply...

    Capacitor Value

Hey its late and I am old. 30 minutes after I think about something the memory comes back to me, which is really inconvient when you need to remember a name. Yes, this is what early epoxy dipped tantalum capacitors looked like.

    Alternistor quadrants and specs

Littlefuse bought Teccor. The "sensitivity" is the maximim current needed to trigger it, though it could easily be triggered with much less current, so there should not be any problem with one that has a somewhat lower trigger current. I may be a little rusty on this not having worked with...

    Sliders

You will find that the resistance between two contacts at extreme opposite ends will be the correct resistance and these will be the ends of the potentiometer. There should be another two contacts, one near each end but typically not quite as close to the ends and if you measure the...
