    We are trying to find out what type of wire is used in this device. We repaired several with .008-.009 E guitar string wire, and the wire burned through in a month or so. We know this is not the correct wire. Does anyone know what the correct wire is for these? I doubt piano wire is correct...

    That is certainly a great idea, however, I do not have a guage small enough to do that. There is a company that claims to be able to fix the units for $79 per unit. I do not want to pour good money after bad, as I have no way to find out if they are honest and will do what they claim.
