Hi people

I came here for your suggestions on how to implement wireless communication between two Atmega microcontrollers over 1km distance.

My first idea was to use ham radio frequencies (I have license) to transmit data. But there is max 12kHz bandwidth per channel. I don't think that 12kHz would give me much speed. I want bit rate around 1Mbps.

What are your recommendations, how can that be implemented?

APC220, interesting, although a bit slow. At bit rate 9600bps it will take around 8 minutes to transmit 5Mb package of data.

Oh, my bad. it's not 8 minutes, it's more like 70 minutes. I made a stupid error and forgot that it's 9600 bits per second. Not 9600 bytes per second.

Anyway, I'm looking at maybe sending wifi signal to it by using parabolic dish.
