I obtained this electronics cabinet in a bulk auction but I have no idea what it is. Please Check it out and let me know what you think.

Thanks

Also photos which allow us to read all the stuff on the rear panel (and anywhere else there is text)

Could be a serial port expander or multi-modem expander.

On the rear panel below the IEC AC power input connector is what looks like a manufacturer's ID label. Voltage, Current, Model Number, etc. What does it say? Or please provide a photo.

Yep, it's some kind of module/circuit board rack. ANY identifying information on the cabinet will help us identify it for you.
Some of those racks have their own power supply, and some are just interface module holders. The identification
plate information will identify what it is.

wow. It is certainly devoid of useful markings.

The one thing we can tell is that there are more slots than there are DB9 connectors on the rear cover.

googling the assembly number might yield something (I'll try that in a minute).

if nobody can come up with anything definite, the next step is a far better picture of one of the cards. We have a resource describing how to take good photos. We need to be able to read what's on the chips. A photo of both sides would be good and a quick eyeball by you to determine if ask the cards are the same.

Hmm, not true about the ports. One per card, just different spacing and not physical located on the cards.

I'm having a hard time reading the company name and other details from the photo.

Sir NoClue . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . .but now . . . . . with a few more clues .

Reading Remonco International also . . . . on this end . . . .NOT to be confused with RONCO..

Two power supplies feeding two banks of 15 of these units.

The boards . . .possibly being video/data activity monitors OR switchers.

The 8 pin I.C.'s use of the HF ferrite inductors, hints of this design , as well as 100 ohm loads.

Mere DB 9 interfacing being indicative of serial info.

The WHOLE unit, possibly being a test bed for environmental / thermal testing, to be placed into
a chamber for the process ,

Circa 1997 design activity date, with some acquired parts being as old as 1994.

Only one readable IC, being a dual 74123, configured as Schmidt triggers.

Central axial leaded filter capacitor with a lightly heat sinked 3 term regulator . . .U4 . . . to its side.

If no sharper pic of the board components is being possible, can you pass us the IC numbers ?
Mainly . . . . . . to ascertain their frequency/bandpass characteristics.

The top of board light reflection makes it hard, but initially see JP at the bottom right corner of the board
isn't the right top corner beng its companion . . . . BUT . . . . with a jumper clip being installed on it ?

That's about all I can see.

Otherwise, it looks like a good cluster of boards to harvest parts from.

With the stand alone power supplies being worthy of the whole bids value.

BTW what are their output voltage and current specs ?
Lambdas ?

Thasssssit . . . .

Layout was done manually in PADS by someone with relatively little experience. Poor power routing, very poor ground management, no copper pours, etc. Inductors are interesting...

Yeah.
This is something somebody pieced together for their own specialized application.
It was not pre-built by a manufacturer.
If I was you, I'd visit the Remonco website and get a line on the boards that they manufactured.
You've got power supplies, so you may have some re-sellable boards and a use for the power supplies.
You're not going to find somebody who can use it as-is, because it was a special-purpose build.
(Unless you want to part with it as a one-piece unit that somebody can salvage parts from).
The boards might fetch a pretty penny to somebody looking for spares for their own application.

Thank you all for your input. Please let me know if you hear of someone that would be interested in buying it in pieces or the whole thing.

You never know, try Craigslist. The longer you wait to try to resell it, the fewer people will be using those boards as
new ones are constantly being built for upgrades.
