Doing some repairs and I can't seem to locate this diode anywhere online. The little booger says on it, "EC2 1332". Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Don't see any cathode band.....I'd be inclined to think it is a small tantalum capacitor especially if it has a + sign on one end.....bit difficult to see any markings really. Perhaps a better pic?

Well the bottom says K5U 104M. I have found this part number on eBay, but they are different shape than above. Not sure what this shape is called?

Sir Dasaniman . . . . . . .

No diodes today . . . . . .instead . . . . .

It's being a common 0.1 ufd ceramic axial leaded capacitor

With a temp stability of :

K5U: a maximum capacitance change of + 10% - 10% over an operating temperature
range of + 10°C to + 85°C

And their cases SURE like to crack at the ends if abused.

Sir Dasaniman . . . . . . .

See if you can afford any of these since. I see no "onesies-twosies" being offered.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro....TRS3&_nkw=.1+ufd+ceramic+capacitors&_sacat=0

PLUS that axial case configuraton that you have encountred is not chiseled in stone.
Letting us make some other choices.
BASICALLY we need to see what this unit came from, and then we can evaluate and see what conditiions dictate the type of unit to be used .

This will need the product, model and numbering and if that is still insufficient . . .a good board photo(s) may suffice.

The smaller size would not be relevant to any naming, it typically would be related to the wattage rating of the unit. In your case, you will be just fine with that little xtra wattage cushion .

So say a 1/4 watt would be a smaller footprint than say a 1/2? Do they go smaller than a 1/4 watt?
