Hi,

I damaged a component of a device that I'm not quite certain what it is. It's situated between the USB female connector and the chip responsible for the signal conversion to USB levels. It's not any of the resistors or capacitors of the conversion circuit.

Here's an image of the component:

Can anyone help me?

thanks

This looks like a chip capacitor. I don't know the value. Maybe your use will work without it. Maybe you can try a 20pf, 100pf , or a 250pf capacitor. You may just have to try.

John is probably right. But you can't tell without having any readable inscription.

There's also a chance that it is a suppressor to protect from voltage spikes.

That would favour the capacitor theory then. If youre replacing it start small. Too big a value and you will 'muddy' the signal.

Hi,

I damaged a component of a device

Damaged exactly how? The focus is on the chip so the chip caps are blurry. I can't see the damage you refer too.

rather the connector, but true none of those 3 caps appear physically damaged

@ eucosta .... it mite actually help if you photographed the part you think you damaged
