TV panasonic prism w1f (chassis alpha2)

Hi,

I turn on my TV panasonic prism w1f (chassis alpha2)band get a squeek
sound(sounds like an electric razor sound). but nothing comes on.
The channel number shows on the unit but no picture. I can still
change channels with the remote but there is no picture or sound.

Any help would be grateful!

This may be a failure in the main power supply, or in the secondary supply
driven by the HV section. It can also be that there is a short in an area
that is pulling down the supply. In these sets it is common to have
capacitors that go high in ESR or going shorted, causing these types of
faults as well.
