Transformer question

Hello!
I need 9+ KV for a project I am doing. However, I only have 6KV
transformers, tops. Is there anyway I can connect more than one 6KV
transformer to get the needed voltage (perhaps in series?)

Cheers,
Apollo

Not wishing to be unhelpful, but if you don't yet know the answer
to your question, it may be _VERY_ dangerous for you to be
playing with any transformer at that sort of voltage.

If you need to ask that question, I doubt that you can do the project
safely.

Try purchasing a used neon xfmr. They come in 9 and 15 Kv. However, the
previous poster do have a point. You can get the crap shocked out of you if
you don't know what you are doing. Watch out for the metal xfmr casing.. it
will most likely be the center tap of the xfmr.

This playing can be very dangerous.

Use two transformers in series with the common connection between them tied
to ground potential. You will have 6Kv on one and 6Kv on the other out of
phase and 12Kv across the two.

Have you had any high voltage training?
Do you have class 2 rubber gloves tested regularly?
Do you have qualified people with CPR & high voltage training, around at all
times?
Do you understand Ground Gradient Step Potential Control?
